Tomodachi Life 2 and Living the Dream

Nintendo's Switch-era game is officially called Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream. Players often say “Tomodachi Life 2” because it follows the Nintendo 3DS game, but that is not the official title.

The Official Name

Use Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream when checking Nintendo's store, demo, platform support, or compatibility notes.

“Tomodachi Life 2” is an informal nickname. It is useful in conversation, but it can also lead to old rumors or unrelated downloads.

Why Players Say Tomodachi Life 2

The previous widely known entry appeared on Nintendo 3DS, so a numbered sequel is an easy way to describe the next major game. Nintendo chose the subtitle Living the Dream instead.

What Living the Dream Adds

Living the Dream brings the series to Nintendo Switch with a free demo in supported regions, Nintendo Switch 2 compatibility, new Mii creation tools, and local wireless item exchange.

The familiar focus remains the same: create residents and watch their relationships produce unpredictable island stories.
